At the dawn of 2016, a bag of Dangote cement was sold for #1,100. Then, with #20,000, one can purchase approximately 19 bags. Today, a bag of the same brand of cement is #2,300. That's over 100 percent increase in price in less than a year. That sum will purchase less than 9 bags. From 19 to 9, do you see the rapid rise of inflation?
Interestingly, only one set of people are smiling to the banks in this current economic strangulation: those who have hitherto invested in Real Estate. For them, this inturn translates into 100 percent return on investment. In recession, the best, high profit yielding investment venture is REAL Estate.
With the alarming rate of increase in the prices of commodities, one can't predict how much a bag of cement will be by the end of the Year. What does this suggest? Things, especially as connected to Real Estate, are always cheaper today than they'd ever be tomorrow.
Make a commitment to own at least a plot of land this Year. Include this in your new year goals and work towards it. Do less of aso-ebi, owanbe, weekend hangouts with the boys, and all party frolicking. Make future plans and spend less on frivolities. Make that conscious decision today!
