It was 10 minutes before 5pm, Femi was  loitering at the bus station. On his laps sat a well-wrapped parcel bonded with glistening red ribbons. He knew she closes from work by 5:00pm, and she boards bus at that exact location, always. He had all the plans set out; he intended to surprise her. He became lost in thought.

He remembered the last time he had invited her out two months ago with aim of declaring his love for her. He stuttered without control, couldn't find the right words and mumbled incoherent phrases. To save the situation, she had to change the topic. One could not have been more embarrassed.

Her image flooded his mind. Everything about her thrills him. From her impeccable white set of teeth, to the humming sound of her voice, especially when she laughs. Not to mention the way she sways from one side to the other when she walks,and the flowery scent of her signature perfume. He braved himself up. He glanced at his watch. It was 20 minutes past 5.

She was coming far ahead. He instinctively grabbed the parcel closer to himself. By this time, the bus station was already busy. Bus conductors shouted various destinations at the top of their lungs. Their eyes met. As expected, she was surprised to see him.

He ran across to her like a lion would when it sees a prey. They exchanged pleasantries and he handed her the parcel. On it was boldly written her name "Ife," with an instruction for her to open it on the spot. She began to unravel it. His heart started beating fast.

In the pack was a rose flower on top of what looked like a book. She lifted the rose to perceive it, and discovered that it was not a book after all. It was the document to a land made in her name. At that moment, he knelt down and produced a ring which he had carefully hidden in his hip pocket. It looks to her like home movie. People gathered; she was dumbfounded; his heart skipped a beat. Streams of tears of joy rolled down her cheeks. The "Yes" was resounding.

LAND MATTERS - 1.0

Ada strolled perfunctorily around the colorfully beautified environment. At last, her dreams of being a Proprietor - of owning a first class school with top notch facilities have been fulfilled. She smiled to herself.

New Year Message!

It's a new year - Hurray! If you're reading this, I'm glad you made it through. Congratulations!
I have a short message for everyone, please stay put.

At the dawn of 2016, a bag of Dangote cement was sold for #1,100. Then, with #20,000, one can purchase approximately 19 bags. Today, a bag of the same brand of cement is #2,300. That's over 100 percent increase in price in less than a year. That sum will purchase less than 9 bags. From 19 to 9, do you see the rapid rise of inflation?

Interestingly, only one set of people are smiling to the banks in this current economic strangulation: those who have hitherto invested in Real Estate. For them,  this inturn translates into 100 percent return on investment. In recession, the best, high profit yielding investment venture is REAL Estate.
